Day 7

Monday 20th July

To start off the day we visited the Weizmann Institute – an international centre of scientific research and graduate study located in Rehovot.  It is regarded as among one of the best in the world      and we were lucky to be given a tour of the complex.              The Weizmann Institute is also where the house of the first President of the State of Israel, Chaim Weizmann, is located.

Our next stop of the day was Machon Ayalon.  This was an underground ammunition factory established in 1946 and used until 1948, located on Kibbutz Hill in Rehovot, Israel.  We were incredibly interested to learn how the brave men and women worked here in the most extreme of conditions.

After this, we went Go-karting, which was so much fun! Everyone had an amazing time even though most of us crashed more than we would have liked.

After this we headed back to Orchan Yoav for an evening of activities.

Roy Peleg said: ' Today was really good. I thought Weitzmann was really modern, smart and clever. It made us look at science in a different way. The tour guide of the bullet factory was really funny and informative. He answered all of our questions. Go karting was amazing – we only crashed a few times but everyone survived to tell the tale'.
